Flanders & The Somme

Ypres — known to many simply as Wipers — is one of the most visited and moving destinations in Europe. This four-day break takes you into the landscapes and memorials of Flanders and the Somme, bringing the extraordinary history of the Western Front to life in a deeply personal and memorable way.

The In Flanders Fields Museum in the magnificent Cloth Hall at the heart of Ypres is widely regarded as one of the finest Great War museums in the world — an emotional and immersive experience that uses personal stories to bring the conflict to life. Outside stands the Menin Gate — the iconic memorial arch inscribed with the names of nearly 55,000 men with no known grave — where the haunting Last Post ceremony takes place every evening.

The tour also includes a visit to the Wellington Quarry — a remarkable underground tunnel system used by Allied troops during the Passchendaele campaign — and a guided tour of the Flanders Battlefields, taking in Tyne Cot Cemetery, the Passchendaele Ridge, and the historic Somme memorials.
