Booking Terms & Conditions
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms apply to package holidays and day trips booked with Gold Crest Holidays, a trading name of Cawthorne's Travel Ltd(company number 17411356), Mangham Road, Rotherham, S61 4RJ. Please read them before you reserve a place. If anything is unclear, call us on 01709 553403 or email [email protected] and we'll be happy to explain.
1. Making a booking
Submitting an online form is a request to reserve, not a confirmed booking. We will contact you within one working day to check availability and take your deposit. Your booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit and send you a written confirmation. The person making the booking is responsible for the payments and for passing on these terms to everyone in the party.
2. Deposit and balance
- A deposit of £50 per person is due to confirm your booking.
- The balance is due 8 weeks before departure. We will send you a reminder, but it is your responsibility to pay on time.
- If you book within 8 weeks of departure, the full price is due at the time of booking.
- If the balance is not received by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled and the cancellation charges below will apply.
3. What your price includes
Each holiday page lists what is included (for example return coach travel, accommodation, meals, excursions and Channel crossings). Anything not listed, such as travel insurance, drinks, spending money and optional excursions, is not included. Prices are per person based on two sharing unless stated; single supplements apply where shown or on request. Children's prices apply to children aged 3–11 at the date of travel; please ask us about infants aged 0–2.
4. If you cancel
You can cancel at any time by writing to us (email is fine). We will refund what you have paid less the cancellation charge. Charges are a percentage of the holiday price depending on how close to departure you cancel:
[cancellation charge scale, e.g. deposit only / 50% / 100% by number of days before departure – to be added]
We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical costs and repatriation. Charges are reduced where we are able to resell your seat or accommodation.
5. If we make changes or cancel
We may occasionally have to make small changes to your holiday, and we will tell you as soon as we can. If we have to make a significant change, or cancel, we will offer you a choice of an alternative holiday or a full refund of everything you have paid. If we cancel (other than for unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances) or make a significant change, you may also be entitled to compensation. Minimum numbers may be needed for a departure to run; if a trip does not run we will let you know promptly.
6. Changes you make
If you want to change the name of a traveller, the date or the holiday, tell us as soon as possible. We will do our best, but changes may incur an administration fee plus any costs charged to us by suppliers. You can transfer your booking to someone else who meets the conditions of the holiday, if you give us reasonable notice (at least 7 days) and pay any transfer costs.
7. Pickup points and travel
Pickup points and times are confirmed in your final documents. Coaches cannot wait beyond a reasonable time, and anyone who misses a pickup is responsible for their own onward travel. Passengers must carry a valid passport (and any visa or entry documents) for European trips; you are responsible for checking the entry requirements for your nationality. Itineraries can change because of traffic, weather, border and ferry delays.
8. Behaviour and special requirements
Please tell us about any medical, mobility or dietary requirements when you book so we can check we can meet them. We may refuse to carry or remove any passenger whose behaviour is likely to endanger or upset others, without refund.
9. Your rights as a package traveller
Our package holidays are covered by the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. We are responsible for the proper performance of the whole package. As the organiser we are required to protect the money you pay for it, and to provide help if you are in difficulty. Details of our protection arrangements are on our financial protection page.
10. Complaints
If something goes wrong on your trip, tell your driver or us straight away so we can put it right. If you are still unhappy, write to us within 28 days of returning home and we will respond within 28 days.
11. Data protection
We use your details only as described in our privacy policy.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case your local courts apply.
